Guard

The Halls High School Colorguard is a competitive performance-based ensemble that uses a combination of dance, flags, rifles, sabres, and props to create a unique visual element in the Halls High School Marching Band productions. Auditions for Halls High School Colorguard are held in the spring of each year and are open to all HHS and eligible HMS students. The fall colorguard practices during the high school colorguard class and after school, performs at Friday night football games, and competes at Saturday competitions.

Winterguard utilizes the pageantry elements associated with colorguard and places them in an indoor setting to music. Halls currently has winterguard teams for both Halls High School and Halls Middle School. Tryouts, which are held in the fall, are open to returning members of the fall colorguard for HHS and all HMS students. Both winterguards rehearse after school and compete at local Saturday competitions in the spring.

    Communication

The colorguard primarily communicates important information specific to the guard through the GroupMe app. Please speak to Chasity Gilliam to be added to the messaging group.

The band directors also use Remind101 to send mass alerts. Information for how to sign up can be found on the Parent Resources page.
